Count Weirdly locked Slylock Fox and Max Mouse in a castle closet. There is a window, but the ground is eighty feet below. How did Slylock and Max manage to escape with the 40-foot rope in the closet?
Answer — Slylock unwound the rope to form two thinner 40-foot-long sections. Then he tied the sections together to form an eighty-foot rope.

They can manage with a 40 foot rope because castles have windows. If the closet had a window there must be more windows below them. They could tie the rope to something in the closet and lower themselves down to the next window and get out of the castle by just exiting that room in the castle.

the rope is made of two smaller ones, he pulled them apart and tied the ends together

Count Weirdly has a weird sense of humor. He placed the key on the nail, but it doesn’t open the door! It actually unlocks an old, dusty trunk containing Count Weirdly’s baby pictures.

it’s simple. the rope is woven into two sections. all they had to do was to split it, then tie the ends together in order to escape!!! I didn’t even have to think twice!!!
